The innovative Automatic Fisherman™ Base Unit combines the convenience of tip-up fishing with the thrill of fighting fish on a jig rod while increasing your catch rate. Constructed from durable plastic with a 22'' ruler imprinted on the side, the Automatic Fisherman Base Unit is designed for use with rods measuring from 24'' to 34'' in length (rod not included). Engineered to automatically set the hook when a fish begins to swim away, the Automatic Fisherman can be used for catching any species.
How the Automatic Fisherman works:
When a fish bites your bait and starts to swim away, the bobber on the line will come up to the fishing rod and get tight. The steel trigger shaft will angle down, causing the fishing rod to slide off the post and set the hook in the fish. The red trigger arm will fall out of the way to give you a tangle-free area to fight your fish. The fishing rod and the drag on the reel do the work until you grab the rod and start reeling the fish up.
